Kristin Kreuk a.k.a. Chun-Li

Who knows Kristin Kreuk? Well, the first time I saw her is in the TV series “Smallville” as Lara Lang, a girl next door and the love interest of Clark Kent (Tom Welling). I like her acting in this series, especially her eyes, very expressive. Her acting career really boost up and she’s getting better and better.

Now, she is the main character for the movie Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li. She will be playing the role of Chun-Li, the first female character to appear in a fighting game, Street Fighter. Her most famous attack is the Hyakuretsukyaku (Hundred Rending Leg, commonly known as the Lightning Kick), where she repeatedly kicks her opponent from a tilted standing position with incredible speed. Kristin Kreuk

She will be joined by some talented actors like Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein, Rick Yune, Moon Bloodgood, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Singapore’s Edmund Chen and Hong Kong film star Cheng Pei Pei. They will fill in the other characters in Street Fighter like Ryu, Ken, Balrog, Charlie, Gen, Cammy, Bison, and among others. This movie will be directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, director of Romeo Must Die,
Exit Wounds, and Doom. It will be release this year, don’t have yet the exact date.

Well, let’s just wait and see for the movie…

The Man behind the Iron…

Robert Downey Jr

Robert Downey Jr, one of the most brilliant and versatile actors of his generation, chalked up a formidable onscreen track record that quickly launched the young thesp into the stratosphere. Although, for a time, Downey’s stormy offscreen life and personal problems threatened to challenge his public image, he quickly bounced back and overcame these setbacks, with a continued array of impressive roles on the big and small screens that never sacrificed his audience appeal or affability.

Through it all, Downey cultivated an enviable instinct for role (and script) selection. His turns in Emile Ardolino’s classy reincarnation fantasy Chances Are (1989), Michael Hoffman’s Soapdish (1992), Robert Altman’s Short Cuts (as the Iago-like Hollywood makeup artist Bill Bush), and Richard Loncraine’s Richard III (1995) wowed viewers around the world, and often, on those rare occasions when Downey did choose substandard material (such as the lead in Richard Attenborough’s deeply flawed Chaplin (1992), or an Australian media parasite in Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers [1994’s portrayal as one of the only worthwhile elements in the Chaplin biopic, and it earned the thesp a Best Actor Oscar nomination, as well as Golden Globe and British Academy Award noms.

Now, he plays as Tony Stark a.k.a Iron Man in this upcoming movie. It is nice to see that Mr. Downey is back in the movie scene. Iron Man is scheduled May 2, 2008. Mark this on your calendar, a must-see movie.
